Objectifs:

Choisir les bons outils ou méthodes d’accompagnement destinées à développer l’autonomie et la communication en fonction du niveau de compétences des personnes.

Développer des outils d’accompagnement, de repères et de CAA ( Communication alternative et améliorée).
Adapt the methods in order to adjust our services to the needs of the supported persons in connection with the recommendations of current good practices and the Seraphin-PH project.
Intramural training intended for all professionals from ESMS or associations, working with people with communication disorders and the need for visual and adaptive supports, support for learning and in adaptive skills, readjustment with current practices in connection with evaluation, concrete implementation and tools intended for users within the framework of the methods recommended by the HAS.
Price excluding trainer's travel and accommodation costs: € 3,600 for 3 days of training (possibility on request for 4 days and theory / practice link or the needs of professionals and requesting establishments).
Each of the points discussed is illustrated with concrete examples.
At the end of these days of training, the participants will be able to better understand the methods and how to adapt to the skill level of the people starting from the strong points of the person. This training makes it possible to set up adaptive and alternative communication systems based on the needs of people and within the framework of the functional assessment and the tools recommended by the HAS.

Part 1: First of all: what do we mean by disability and mental retardation?
* Definitions and characteristics
* From mild mental retardation to profound mental retardation and related skills of people.
* Assessment tools referenced in the field of disability such as the Vineland II quick presentation in order to better understand the specificities of people and their needs.
Understanding autism from the inside (reminders):
* Reminders: Definitions Autism, PDD then ASD.
* Functioning of people with Autism.
Support for people with Autism in relation to their cognitive specificities: Link between theory and practice.
* Better understand the theory of mind and its functions.
* Executive functions and their everyday applications.
* The defects of central coherence and concrete examples.
The associated fundamental cognitive difficulties and their consequences from the point of view of the concrete and:
* Attention difficulties
* Perception disorders
* Memory deficit
* Difficulties adapting to change.
Part 2: Concrete communication:
Around expressive and receptive communication.

Part 3: How to assess communication and abstraction disorders?

4th part: The toolbox of methods and their applications based on evaluations in order to adjust services to people's needs:
TEACCH, ABA, MAKATON, PECS, MONTESSORI etc… what are the different methods and their applications. For whom and why?
WHAT IS MONTESSORI and the link with activities of daily living?
How to develop learning and concrete examples of implementation in connection with adaptive skills and daily life.

THE PRINCIPLES OF TEACCH: A TWO-WAY ADAPTATION
The structuring of time and space and how to make the environment accessible and understandable.
Physical organization: establishment of coherent zones and boundaries, visually well defined and devoted to specific activities.

Collective and individual communication tools
Daily schedules (when and where?) A schedule that makes sense: individualized in form, length, use. Example of collective and individual tools.
